The price of agricultural land in Slovenia determined by location, not quality


The sales prices of agricultural land in Slovenia is largely determined by location rather than other criteria:

  • quality agricultural land,
  • relief,
  • soil quality,
  • actual use of space.
Highest price levels  of agricultural land are in the most attractive parts of Slovenia, irrespective of soil quality and economic viability of agricultural production.

From the above it is possible to establish that the purchase of agricultural land shall not pursue the economical and efficient farming, but above all other interests in the best locations in the surroundings of Ljubljana and resorts Primorska and Gorenjska.

In less developed regions of Slovenia rhere is a lot of quality of agricultural land and  prices are low, despite favorable conditions for agricultural production.
